The boards are straightened and bevelled using a hand plane, so once all the pieces have been placed side by side during the laying, they may, or rather, they must present irregularities just like the floors of long ago... anything but industrially engineered. Each individual piece is distinguished by Nature, eternally the same but perpetually different, imperfection as an element of absolute beauty.
